Moms, you are incredible. You’ve allowed your bodies to grow tiny humans. You’ve sacrificed comfort, being able to breathe, swollen feet, expanding bellies and so much more to bring a baby in this world. And as far as I’m concerned, everything about your journey and your bodies should be celebrated. That includes breastfeeding moments.
Too often, I hear women say they don’t want to offend anyone with something that’s so natural. Moms get embarrassed that their baby is hungry. They feel the need to cover up and hide it from the world that they are nurturing their babies. It seems so unfair, considering how it’s such a beautiful moment. I was so grateful recently when my friend Lauren allowed me to capture her feeding her daughter during their family session. It was so peaceful and natural, and it made me realize that there are too few times where I’ve had the opportunity to shoot moments like this between moms and their babies.
These days fly by so fast. And before you know it, you may not be able to share in these quiet breastfeeding moments anymore. That’s especially true for women who struggle with nursing. And between the soreness, the teething, the cluster feeding, and the late nights, it can feel like a slog. That’s why I encourage you to allow me to capture them for you. They’ll be gone before you know it.
Nurse away, and please allow me to capture those moments. I promise you it’s worth it, and I’ll always celebrate these moments you have with your baby.
Breastfeeding moments aren’t the only ones can capture. Get in touch and let’s capture your baby’s story and all those moments you’re creating together.
