Lauren and Elliot are dream clients of mine. I can genuinely say it’s because this couple has become like family to me. When they set up their most recent watch me grow session with their beautiful son Maverick, they invited their extended family along and I couldn’t wait to see them all again!
I’ve been documenting the Vaughns’ story for about 5 years now. Getting to spend that much time with a family and being there for some of their biggest moments in life can easily lead to the kind of adoration I have for this couple and their family. Believe me when I say I feel very invested in them all.
In fact, if you follow my work, you may recognize Lauren’s sister, Morgan, from her recent engagement sessions. When she and her fiancĂ© get married next year, I’ll get to capture their day, too. Lauren will be Morgan’s Matron of Honor and sweet Maverick will be the happy couple’s ring bearer. I cannot wait!
Elliot’s sister and her family joined in the fun, too. Mariah and Wesley and that gorgeous little Emerson made this session complete. The two cousins being one-year-olds together just slayed me. I love how kiddos at this age don’t know how to play together. They literally just sit adjacent to each other and it’s somehow the cutest thing ever.
These watch me grow packages are typically about the babies. That time is so fleeting, especially for new parents who are in the midst of figuring out how to start caring for a new baby. It changes a family’s dynamics in so many incredible ways. Getting to capture those moments is such a humbling experience for me. It’s so fun seeing how much a baby changes in that first year. But in the case of this family, I feel like I’m getting to experience that feeling of “watch me grow” on so many levels.
I’ve been able to watch Elliot and Lauren shift from a newly engaged couple to newlyweds. I’ve seen them grow into their roles as a mother and a father. I watched Lauren’s mom, Amy, move from mother-of-the-bride to Maverick’s grandma. I’m getting to see Morgan and Josh follow this same path.
I can’t encourage my clients enough to capture every moment. It may sound clichĂ© when I say the time is fleeting, but it is. The baby days fly by, our families grow in the blink of an eye, and suddenly we’re wishing we could remember those sweet smiles and the giggles and the silly little faces. It’s worth taking the time to document these days. I get teary eyed thinking about how I’ve been able to give this gift to Lauren and Elliot. It truly means the world to me.
Now that I’m all misty-eyed, I’m going to leave you with this: I’d love to do the same for you and your family. I truly consider it a privilege to build relationships with my clients, just like I’ve done with the Vaughns.
Contact me now book an upcoming session with me and let’s talk about how to tell your story.
