I remember telling everyone I knew about the first time I got to shoot Andy and Brogan. What seemed at first to be a quiet, unassuming demeanor, I quickly saw how much they absolutely adore each other. I talked about their session for weeks! Fast forward to just a handful of weeks ago, and their wedding was just as unforgettable. Their Loose Mansion wedding was a dream from start to finish, and watching their story continue to unfold before my eyes was such a delight.
Let me first start by talking about this venue. Loose Mansion is a 100+ year old literal mansion located in the heart of Kansas City. The architectural detailing is gorgeous, and they literally take care of everything for you. It’s no wonder they’ve consistently been awarded “Best of Weddings” by The Knot and “Couples Choice Award” by Wedding Wire. They are an all-inclusive venue, which is amazing for reducing stress. Everything from the bar to the dinner to the overnight stay to the stylings of the day were handled in-house.
Brogan and Andy have been together since college, and if you listen to the stories from all of their friends, it sounds like Andy has known Brogan was a catch from day one. Just like during her engagement session, she was again absolutely stunning on her wedding day.
I keep talking about how gorgeous Brogan was. But Andy cleaned up pretty nicely, too. I loved shooting his groomsmen and him in their private room, which had rich tones that made them look so good using the lighting that was coming in the window.
Have I mentioned lately how much I adore first looks? I seriously get teary-eyed every time I shoot one. Both Andy and Brogan’s father got their first looks at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, where they were getting thumbs ups and cheers from visitors—especially after the moment Andy laid eyes on his bride.
I’m also loving these portraits, too. It couldn’t have been a more beautiful day at the Nelson-Atkins. And let’s be serious—these are some gorgeous folks that Andy and Brogan had at their side.
The wedding was sentimental and beautiful. But with this couple, it was obvious they were ready for the I do’s to be over so the celebration could begin.
This group was ready to party in honor of the newlyweds. I feel like they probably had some insanely fun college parties if this reception is any indication!
Andy and Brogan, I know your future is going to be incredible. Congrats to you both, cheers to your tomorrow, and thank you for allowing me to be a part of your day!
