When the story of the O’Bryhim family began, I had already known both Chad and Darcey for years thanks to our days at Baker University. Chad and I worked closely together through our school newspaper, where I swear he’d tell you I only made a handful of journalism students cry (oops!). I’ve long know, too, that Chad’s a wonderful guy, so it’s been a blast watching him grow into such an amazing husband and father. And of course, from those days, I also knew Darcey was a catch. Because they have been some of my favorite people over the years, I knew when we met up for their most recent family photo session, I’d have to share what we captured that day.
Chad and Darcey are insanely gorgeous, so obviously, their babies are also insanely gorgeous, too. Plus, they are just such wonderful human beings. Darcey is one of the sweetest women you could ever meet and Chad is so hilarious and so much fun, and together they are this incredible power couple who light up the room the moment they walk in the door.
In family photo sessions, I sometimes think we get so obsessed with how sweet the kiddos are that we forget to share where it all began. In this case, it all started with Chad and Darcey’s beautiful relationship. I love capturing how deeply in love these two are. I’m so happy I’ve gotten to see their relationship blossom. Capturing it behind the lens is so easy and natural. Also, can we talk about Darcey’s outfit? It’s perfection.
Henry and Margot are the sweetest. It feels like just yesterday I was shooting maternity and newborn photos of these babes, and now just look at them! I adore these kids, and the best part is knowing I’ll get to see them grow into the amazing humans I know they’re destined to be.
Also, the fashion sense of this family is just perfection! Margot’s little mustard jumper and headband are so right for fall and I love how Henry matches daddy’s look. Are they super chic or what?
Family sessions are so meaningful on so many levels. As a journalist at heart, I’m a big believer in storytelling, and to me, that’s what these family sessions do. Some day, when you look back, you’ll remember these little snapshots in time, plus future generations will thank you for taking the time to capture them. I promise.
